I just installed a new 9800 Pro. Now when I open ASE (All Seeing Eye) and try to click on a server, my machine immediately reboots. I have reinstalled ASE and my vid drivers (they are the new Catalyst) three times. I have tried Omega drivers. All my other drivers and bios are up to date. Any ideas? I've already checked in the ASE forums and their response to similar queries (not about 9800 Pro) is to reinstall drivers. The only thing different between yesterday (when it was working) and today is the new 9800P.

Were you using an nVidia card before? If so, did you properly remove the drivers?

Try deleting the ASE and running without it for a few days. Then try it again.

There's a ton of threads on here giving advice on how to troubleshoot problems with ATI cards. The main thing you want to do is make sure you have your old drivers uninstalled and have run "Driver Cleaner" to clear out anything that was left behind after the uninstall. If that doesn't work you'll have to start looking at your BIOS settings and maybe even the settings within the ATI control panel. I went through a tough time with my 9800 in my Asus P4PE but finally got it stable after the help from members here.

Thanks guys. Did the Driver Cleaner thing at lunch. Didn't do a lot. Now it doesn't reboot the second I mouse over a server, but it will if I leave my cursor over any one part of the ASE window too long. Other than this I have no problems with the card. I can run all the benchmarks, I can OC that card (currently at 405/360), I can play Q3, UrT, and Halo. Multi-monitor works. The card is stable as they come.

The only other thing I can think of is I installed an Intel Application Accelerator when I was updating my chipset drivers. Seems strange that that might be doing this, but tonight I will try to unistall that software and see if it helps. Otherwise it's off to Gamespy (and VilePlanet) for me.
