Help...Installation Probs.

I had an athlon xp with a a7v133-c but after having tons of problems I dropped the processer to a thunderbird 1Ghz. The problem is, most of the errors have cleared up, but I can't install many programs, mostly games. Everytime I try to install SOF2 test or THPS3 or various other progs, I get errors that it can't find certain files or that the install files are corrupt! Can anyone help me out?

Did you try changing out the ram...I was having the exact same problems just this past weekend when I was building my first XP system and was getting file corrupt errors out the ying yang...it turns out it was the ram...it was bad. I replaced the ram and now I don't have any problems and the system smokes!!! (not literally!!!LOL)

My bet is that the RAM is the culprit. I have experienced the same kind of problems due to bad RAM.
