Help in upgrading old pc

Manufacturer- Hewlett Packard

HP -110–150IL

Cpu-i3 3240t

Ram-6gb Ddr3

Integrated hd 2500

I want to upgrade my CPU (only motherboard and gpu) ,my Mobo doesn't have any pcie slot for dedicated gpu, and it is micro ATX according to the manufacturer.


Do i need to buy a different case or i can still upgrade from micro ATX to standard size ATX board.If yes then please suggest some options.Also i will be doing upgrade by myself so it is fine to do by myself ??

The gpu I am looking upto is gtx 1050/1050ti.

To keep your case you want to stay micro atx, just get a board with a pci-express slot. Similar to this:

Also, if you keep the case, the led and power button connections will be different.

Power connection is 450watts
I was asking about for different board as there was space inside the current case ??
Is it fine to continue on the current case and buy another microATX or should I build another one with ATX?? What will you recommend??

Screw holes at the bottom are different in atx. I see that the backplate has the risers; but you would need to make the holes. You wouldn't gain much with full atx in that case. Honestly, if you want a new case, just plan on a whole new pc.

Power button and led - That case and motherboard were made specifically for HP. If you look at the LED connector on the board, it is all on one connector. Most motherboard manufactuers vary on where they put these connections, so it isn't likely you will conect every single one on a new board.

Power sounds good for what you are planning.

Thanks for your help , looks like I am better off with building a new CPU in future as it doesn't seem possible to upgrade current one,anyways thanks for your time.
