To all you experts:
I am in the process of trying to set up a RAID 1 (mirrored) configuration using a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP with (2)Seagate ULTRA 7200rpm 80gb HD. The manual is horrible as they all usually are. I cannot figure out the correct sequence of steps to get this up and running. I originally booted the system with only one of the drives attached on IDE1 and I installed Windows 2000 pro and selected F6 and Fastrak 133. So everything went smooth there, then I installed all the motherboard drivers and what not. After that I powered the system down and moved the IDE1 drive to IDE3(raid) and attached the identical drive on IDE4. According to the manual once the raid connectors are being used the bios should recognize that you are attempting to set up raid drives and it is supposed to help you set an array up. Well it doesn't. It basically continues to boot and the gives me a blue screen stating that the boot drive in inaccessable or something like that. If anyone could help me get on track here I would greatly appreciate it. I am at my wits end. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
