3.0 is backwards compatible. Not that there are any cards out there which saturates the a pcie16x 2.0 interface.

Everything looks compatible to me. Are you still selecting parts? If so I would recommend bumping up your processor to a 6300 if you can afford it and don't want to go the Intel route. Otherwise have fun!

Actually not :p

u see i always had in mind to go for fx 6100 rather than 4100 but didnt want to bump up my budget so was refraining myself but now i am spending some extra bucks and going for fx6100 :D

the thread was about the 3.0 and 2.0 confusion, i dnt know but i always run into compatibility confusion :(

OP you could easily get a core i5 with a H77 motherboard for the cost of FX-4100 with ASROCK 970 Extreme 4 and coolermaster hyper tx3 cooler. the core i5 will be much faster in every application and a huge improvement in games.

Hi Raghu,

From the name i am guessing ur from INDIA (wild one though :p).
I can go with the configuration u said above cz i have no special knack towards AMD and can easily go with INTEL combinations.

So, can u suggest some site/store where i can get these my total cost of PC in flipkart is Rs 45,000. And i dnt want to bump up my Budget cz i am already running 5k above than what was initially decided.
If store preferably near MUMBAI/ PUNE as i live in PUNE.

Thanks,
Debanka

yeah i am from chennai, india . definitely you should be able to go the computer market and get a few quotations and get the best prices in your market by comparing with different shops and bargaining.

core i5 3450 - 11500
Intel DH77EB - 6300
Corsair 8GB DDR 3 (4GB x 2) - 2200
Seagate 500 GB HDD - 3400
ANTEC 200 V2 - 3000
Seasonic S12II 520 power supply - 3900
MSI HD 7850 2GB Power edition - 15100
Sony DVD writer - 1000

TOTAL 46400

if you want to cut price a bit more go for Transcend 4GB RAM (2GB x 2) . its costs 1200 (600 x 2). i have listed flipkart for the GPU and a popular shop in chennai computer market called delta peripherals whose prices are good. the cabinet and power supply prices are quite accurate because my friend assembled a PC last month and got these two components at these prices.
