Hey everyone, I want to get a new computer system and was wondering if anyone had any tips or help for me. I'm not clueless about computers but not a whiz on it either. I'm in college and probably won't have more than $800 to spend on it. Any tips would be appreciated. :)

Oh, I'll probably build it myself (with some help of course). Thanks;)

Welcome to Anandtech!! Can you tell us what you'd like to do with your computer first?

It doesn't have to be spectacular, being in college, chances are I'll be playing a lot, *a lot* of video games. Other than that, i mean, just the norm.

CS rulez, too bad it has ruined my education:(

<< Do you need a monitor, keyboard, NIC, mouse, etc? >>

the P4T-E has an onboard NIC. If he doesn't have the other things, then my config would suddenly pose problems for him...

If you are still in college I would strongly suggest checking out the "hot deals" for the free XP PRO for students. You will have to atttend a seminar, but oh well its worth $300.00:)
