I posted this on Nvnews but nobody could help me there, so:

My rig is:

Athlon XP @ 2200 mhz
1 GB DDR 2700 RAM
6800 GT @ 416/1120
61.77 drivers. I am not comfortable using the 65.xx beta drivers where you have to go through all the inf tweaking. If someone has a link to standalone easy install drivers I will use them.

Running 16x12, all settings on very high, 4xaf. trilinear and aniso optimizations on. Here are 3 fraps demos from the fort and pier levels.

On any site benchmarks, their scores seem to be MUCH higher than mine.

Min Max Avg
23 48 33 (this was riding the hang glider in pier)
35 48 41 (this was the boat ride at the beginning of fort)
34 60 45 (this was where the helicopter attacks you near the end of fort)

Please help me. Thanks very much. :D

Play at lower res or turn off AA.

Site benchmarks use faster CPU and ram and no sound.

Install DirectX 9.0c. Your 61.77 drivers are written to use this. Also, If you haven't already, install the crytek 1.2 patch. You will have to search the web for it. Then change your Far Cry shortcut to this:

"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -DEVMODE "r_sm30path 1"

(C: being the drive you installed Far Cry on.)

This will enable some SM3.0 functionality and should improve performance a little in some areas.

I didn't know you had to add -DEVMODE "r_sm30path 1" to get SM3.0. Thanks. I have been trying to improve my FarCry fps also.

Here is a guide.

Basically, it looks like you CPU is slowing you down. Lowering Environmental Quality to Medium should take care of the CPU and give you some extra frames.

Experiment with this guide. It says a lot of stuff, including which settings are worth enabling.

Keys, I am already using SM3. Thanks though.

VIAN, ty for the link, I went through it, but not much changed. Meh, I'll try lowering res, but I expected 16x12 to work with my card.
