HELP: Important Information Lost on Floppy, Seeking retrieval methods

a friend of mine was working on a project, saved it to a floppy, and the next time he tried to use it,
windows asks him if he would like to format it now, etc.

is the information lost? is there any possible way to retrieve it? please let me know, as i have never had to retrieve vital info from a floppy.

I would try different PC's. Sometimes a floppy that is not readable on one PC is on another.

You might also try PC Inspector: http://www.pcinspector.de It's freeware. Good luck, and indoctrinate your pal about the unreliable nature of floppies 😉
