Alright, here's the situation:
I bought a webcam today, the Veo "Stingray." A friend of mine in St. Louis recently bought a Logitech something-or-other. So, obviously we were curious and decided to try a video chat. We're text-messaging each other in MSN messenger, and he sends me an invitation for video conference or something. I accept, and netmeeting opens up. After a couple mins, we're both in netmeeting, in the same "conference." But, alas, no video, which he thinks should be playing in the little window. Instead, there's just the NetMeeting logo that's always there. No sound either, and we both have mics hooked up. He tells me to look under tools. Send is checked, which he says should be, but receive is in gray. Same situation with him. We don't know exactly what to make of that.
So, he has since gotten off-line, but I'm still on a quest to figure this out. Both of our mics work separately on our computers (we can open up the camera's software and "film" stuff just fine). But for some reason this conferencing isn't working. The only idea I've been toying with but have not yet managed to test yet is, maybe I have to have the software for my camera running before entering the "conference"? I dunno, just thinking out loud. Can someone who has experience with these durned things help me (us) out?
Thakns.
