I bought a Vision Tek Geforce 2 gts ddr card about 3 months ago and put the video card in my AMD k-6/2 450mhz computer...I got about 1300 3dmarks in the default benchmark. My savage 2000(viper II) card I owned previous to the geforce 2 gts card got 1700 3dmarks in the same benchmark. I thought it very unusual that I would get a worse score with this considerable upgrade...I posted my delima at Tom's hardware and Maximum PC and everyone said my cpu was too slow to make the geforce shine. I also thought this was wierd because the T&L was supposed to be designed to help slower processors, right. So I upgraded my computer to an AMD duron 800mhz with a Abit Kt7 motherboard. I have 128megs of pc133 ram, a 13.6 IBM 7,200 rpm hard-drive, and a soundblaster Live x-gamer as my vital stats. I now only get 2400 3dmarks in the default 3dmark settings.(1024x768x16bit color) I know this is terribly wrong. Other systems with my processor and similar configs get 6000+ 3dmarks. I called Vision Tek and they walked me through their options then he sighed and gave up and told me to call abit!...Well, abit is impossible to get a hold of on the phone...I've called 2x and waited for 30 minutes, then gave up, because it was a long distance call. I've changed bios settings out the wazzou...Latest drivers, Via 4n1, 3.61 drivers, leaked drivers, Agp 4x enabled, aperature set to 64megs(half my ram) fast writes, timing delays, everything...Nothing helps. Even the T&L demos off Nvidias website run like slideshows. What could be my problem here?

Please write me at jvonengeln@hotmail.com
instead of my mu address because I check it more frequently.

This sounds like a bad vid card...

although the 3.61 drivers are ancient history...

Also, I would not have run out and bought a whole gigantic setup just for that card. Shoot my g-force and my K63+ 450@600 runs very well, Im getting around 50-60fps in Q3 on 800*600 in 32!!!

Of course your new processor blows that K62 off the map...

I would definately try the card in one other system and if the performance is still poor, then RMA that sucker into next week!

Try updating all your drivers/bios since this may solve some of your problems. Also what is your real world performance (i.e. fps in games) since you may get poor 3dmark scores, but if your game performance is top notch and where it should be then you dont really have a problem.
