HELP! I'm having a display problem

I just got a new monitor. But I was messing around with the display options in Windows and now when I move the mouse to the extreme right or top, the entire screen shifts. This happens on my laptop and the new monitor. How do I return it to the default option?
 
That often happens when you've set the resolution too high for the display to handle with certain graphics adaptors/notebook displays especially.

Try setting the resolution down to the correct level?
