Question Help ID an NES game I played as a kid

I am pretty sure this game was on NES because I played it at a friend's house and we also played NES JAWS so that must be the console he had. However, he might have had another console that I can't recall.

• Probably an NES game in the early 90s.
• Side Scroller (left to right).
• Cars or hovercars in a Futuristic or space/sci-fi style.
• I think there was some aspect of racing.
• Perhaps some aspect of vehicle-to-vehicle combat/smashing off the road.
• Can't remember if it was 2-player.

I have NO idea what this game was and I have watched all types of NES roundup videos, collecting videos, etc, and nothing looks like it.

Any thoughts?

Wow, you might be right. I remember playing Battletoads but I didn't think about the driving/hovercraft part. Perhaps I am mistaken thinking that I was playing a standalone game. Hmmm. Thanks for the post!

dang, I was joking. 😀 ...meant that to be a somewhat flippant comment to act as a "bump," until the crack twins of Georgia would get in here and comment with the real answer.

Well, I was thinking about the hoverbikes part(s) in Battletoads and how those were legendarily impossible.

But I also had vague memories of a game with some contra-like dudes--red and blue pants, futurey cyborg types with metal arms or something--and part of the game had them flying around in air bikes or something, and I thought that's what you were talking about; or maybe your post planted that fake memory in my head 😀

LOL yeah maybe we are both on to something with that game you described - it does sound vaguely familiar. Maybe someone will have the answer!

It's gotta be Battletoads if the racing part was just one small aspect of it. The timeline is perfect too.

How many controllers did you smash while playing it? If the answer is >=2 then yeah, it's probably Battletoads.
