Help IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30 GB Issues

I am running Win98 on a 750mhz athlon and i just installed a 30GB
IBM Deskstar 75GXP. The drive is showing up in the bios as 0 mb.
When I go into fdisk the drive does not show up. Anyone have any
ideas ?

what mobo are you using?

Double check your jumpers. Is it set to Master or Slave? Is it alone on the cable?

There are issues with the faster processors and the 30G 75GXP with MinME and Win98se not having enough time to flush cache. There is a post with over one hundred replies somewhere in this forum. Don't quote me though; could be of some help.

Might check BIOS version.....Maybe need an updated bios....Also, did you install the ata/100 drivers...?

Go to IBM's site and download and run ibmatasw.exe. That may solve your problem.
