I have a Tyan 1833DL that have dual Celeron 533 using MSI Master Slot converter that happilly cracking RC5. When I attempted to replace the Celeron with PIII 700 FCPGA cpus, only 1 cpu is detected and Windows 2000 locks up. What is wrong with this setup?

I put back the Celeron so that it can keep cracking for now. Can someone give me ideas/advise? Are the MSI Master 6905 slot 1 converters capable of dual PIII? They work fine with dual Celeron. I change the jumper in the coverter to coppermine but the motherboard only detects one PIII 700 cpu.

Make sure all other settings (vcore, FSB, etc) are set to full auto. That way you can change stuff in the BIOS. I've got a friend that had to run his P3E as a Celeron in his slocket, won't work any other way.

Good luck!

I had massive problems getting my dualy to do 2 socket 370 p3 750's with slotkets. I know the slotkets I used were dual capable and I know the mobo did dual cause I ran dual p2-400s in it.

In the end, I sold it and went t-bird setup. I would suggest running slot1 cpu's.

I got busy at work, haven't had time to try again. Hopefully tomorrow will be an easier day. I have two extra 370 PIII 700 cpus that's why I wanted to try this upgrade. I've heard people successfully used dual 370 PIII using ASUS slockets. I thought I've seen a few post a long time ago telling that people were having problem using MASTER 6905 slockets for dual PIII. Unfortunately, nothing shows up on the search.

I tried all the suggested settings but only 1 PIII is recognized using the MSI Master converter.

The BIOS is the latest. I verified that the motherboard is PIII capable but using 2 PIII 700 slot 1. No problem there, 2 cpus recognized.

Anyone else using this OEM motherboard with 2 FCPGA PIII? What kind of converter are you using?

I think the MSI Master slockets have settings for dual Celeron (oldstyle Celerons) operation, but don't work in dual mode with Coppermine processors.

The 700 MHz FCPGA PIIIs are both cB0. They work great on MSI 694D motherboard which got upgraded to dual 1GHz.

Any suggestions on the slockets? Has anyone used ASUS slockets on dual PIIIs?
