Help! I think I shorted my fan header

First off let me say: I am an idiot, and have learned my lesson.

I have a Shuttle SN85G4V2, with a FN85 motherboard (nforce3).

I was trying to see how loud some different fans were, by plugging them into a fan header on my motherboard while it was on. I know this isn't smart. Long story short, I accidentally shorted the 2 power pins in the fan2 header.. I saw a spark, and since then it hasn't been working at all.

I tried doing a hard boot, and I tried resetting the bios. Neither worked. So far I haven't noticed any other issues.. both other fan headers work fine.

Is there any hope to fix this, or am I just one fan header down?

Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated...

Yeah I figured as much..

Is there such a thing as a usb (or other) fan controller that I can run through software like speedfan or something equivalent?

I don't really have space for a fan controller panel in either size drive bay..
