Help! I still can't get my RAM to run at 133

Ok, I'm getting frustrated.

For a while now I've been working on a A7V+Duron 600 machine.

The problem I'm having is that when I set the memory speed to 133 in the BIOS, it freezes and kicks me back into the BIOS with an error message about a wrong external CPU frequency. I thought for a while that it was cheapie memory, but now i've upgraded to Mushkin, and still have the same problem.

I'm not attempting to OC. All relivent settings are at default or auto.

It works at 100, but i'm afraid the system will keep going unstable if I don't figure this out.

I`m not sure about the ASUS board but on the MSI K7T PRO board you just set +33 hst clk(host clock) for the ram to run at 133,try making sure your ram is running at default timings etc.Btw your board should be at 6x100= 600mhz so check all settings.

🙂

1) Check ALL the settings.
2) Change DRAM timings (Turbo-Normal)
3) Move the DIMM to another slot
4) Get the latest BIOS update & flash it

Hope this helps
