Hi ladies and gentlemen,

I was picking up my laptop to carry it to my office while it was on, and I tripped with it in my hands, almost dropping it, but managed to save it from falling... I had it still open at 90 degrees (screen was up) and I had a cup of water in one hand...

water spilled onto the keyboard and screen, and now thereareissueswithkeyboardandscreenhaspatcheswhatdoIdo?

if it was just water, then the keyboard should be fine once it has dried out properly, leave it 24hrs before trying again.

I'm not so sure about the screen though. I suspect that's gonna need replacing, but again I'd give that a day or two to dry thoroughly before giving up on it.

LCD does not like any kind of liquid spillleds on it. It happened with my old Dell notebook and I cannot afford surgery. :(

OMG :Q It looks as though it just needed to dry out... when I originally typed out the first message, the keys were gimped as well, hence that one really long line of text without spaces between the words. When I tried to hit the space key, it would delete the previous character/space, therefore, I could only type one long string of characters.

The screen seems to be great now, without the water marks. I laid the laptop out on it's side, and removed the dvd+rw optical drive for better air circulation, and I placed it near a heating vent. OMG, from now on I am going to be super careful with how I handle it. I guess I got lazy and made a mistake of trying to carry one too many items.

whew

Always remember to treat laptops like the multi-hundred dollar delicate things they are. :)

I bought a large number of partially defective solar cells - I now have a box of cells that are almost perfect. It's probably worth several hundred dollars, and a small impact could shatter a number of them. Believe me when I say I'm careful with how and when that box is handled.
