debugging a system board failure i undid copper pad mod on e4300. in the process it removed from the green stuff on the side of the chip where the pad mod loops around.

one may assume this green stuff shielded the metal (gnd?) or not? I wish to re-pad-mod my cpu now that i ruled out the system board as failing but i don't want to copper over a ground from VSS :)

any ideas?

the e4300 works fine at 1.8ghz now and worked at 2.4ghz before.

okay i just wanted to make sure the exposed metal under the green area is not Ground ; certainly don't want to expose VSS to GND that would be a mess.

pic of BSEL mod

on the right of the orange i exposed metal when i removed the pad mod. can i just paint this with nail polish, dry, then re-pad mod without shorting VSS to ground?
