Holy crap i was attempting to remove my stock ramsinks on my geforce 3 ti-200 by sliding a credit card between the sink and the chip and accidentally knocked off one of those tiny rectangular thingies (there are like 4 in a row)... the card still works (at least partially since i'm writing this on my system with the card in it) but what am i to do? can i take it to a shop and have them expertly solder it back on? anyone know what those tiny rectangular thinies do??? i need some serious help pronto! thanx

Well, if they are resisitors then you did a damn good job knocking 4 of them off with a credit card. If they are capacitors then I dont see how they are rectangular. Are they ceramic things that protrude from your board?

he didn't knock 4 of, just one in a set of 4.

dont' worry about sodering it back on untell you findout if it's mesed anthing up; it could be a resister and now maby something will run a little hoter than it should, or a copasiter and now something won't be as stable as it should..

or maby your S-Vidio out won't work; who knows, test the card and see what hapens;

Most surface mount resistors and capacitors are in the same rectangular package. They call them chip capacitors. There are several sizes: 0804, 0402 . . . (I think this means 8mm x 4mm). I work with these at work, but I'm no where near an expert about them. It would be hard to knock one off, unless there wasn't a good solder joint (which is quite possible, they usually don't get checked that well mechanically).
