I'm 6' and weigh 195 lbs. In 3 months (April to June) I cut 30 lbs of scale weight (43 lbs of fat, gained 13 lbs of muscle) by moving to a 6-meal-a-day diet and getting in the gym. I started at 29% body fat and now I sit around 13%. If you want to lose fat and gain some muscle, you absolutely have to start eating that many times a day. Don't eat huge meals, but rather scale down your meal size and just eat more often. It's not as hard as you think, I promise.
In order to put on muscle properly you're going to need to intake about 200g of protein a day. That's no joke. You'll also need to slightly cut down on your carbohydrate intake, and refine the kinds of carbohydrates you're putting in your body. Cut out the french fries, white bread, flour tortillas, and hash browns and you'll start dumping some weight just from that alone.
