I'm supposed to take 92g of protein a day for working out. I wanna know in how many servings I'm supposed to take this in or when and what time of day for maximum results.

Equal amounts, 5-6 times a day in your meals. Eat 5-6 times a day and try to get about 20g of protein into each meal.

Are you trying to cut weight or bulk up?

Perhaps you could try even more protein - as urinal mint said the more servings a day the better. Also space them out as much as possible. Take protein first damn thing before waking up and first thing before bed so that your body isn't protein-less as you sleep (but don't pig out before bed cause you'll get fat!).

personally, and this worked for me, i went on a diet and did lots of cardio and lifted a little so i wouldn't loose as much muscle. You really can't loose weight and put on much muscle at the same time. it's a one or the other type thing. I'd say loose the weight first, i assume you want to be around 160, then start working on building lots of muscle.

I'm 6' and weigh 195 lbs. In 3 months (April to June) I cut 30 lbs of scale weight (43 lbs of fat, gained 13 lbs of muscle) by moving to a 6-meal-a-day diet and getting in the gym. I started at 29% body fat and now I sit around 13%. If you want to lose fat and gain some muscle, you absolutely have to start eating that many times a day. Don't eat huge meals, but rather scale down your meal size and just eat more often. It's not as hard as you think, I promise.

In order to put on muscle properly you're going to need to intake about 200g of protein a day. That's no joke. You'll also need to slightly cut down on your carbohydrate intake, and refine the kinds of carbohydrates you're putting in your body. Cut out the french fries, white bread, flour tortillas, and hash browns and you'll start dumping some weight just from that alone.

Also, you might want to check out this web site if you want to read a lot more about the types of things I did to my diet and exercise routine in order to drop a lot of flab and bulk up.

If you have any questions, PM me and I'll be happy to answer! :D

Best of luck.

MigAce312 - yeah, UrinalMint is right w/ the protein spreaded out w/in 6 meals... try your best to eat 6 meals a day, and have each serving be around the size of your fist. You will want your protein and carbs if you are going to workout because you need something to help your muscles build. Try to finish your last meal at least 3 hours before you sleep so that your body has had time to digest the food so that you won't have it stored within your body during the low-metabolic phase while sleeping.

@ 5'10 / 203 you seem like you're a really big/buffed guy, or you really need to start working out =)

I suggest you do H.I.T. that is High Intensity Training... the cool thing is you can work at your level... it's basically a level 5 through 10 workout where 10 would be an all out sprint. There are places where you can read more on this - go ahead and look it up.

If you're trying to lose weight, and want to lift weights, know that you're going to have to eat... don't make the mistake of going all out w/ aerobics and weights and then end up starving yourself thinking that it will help you shed the pounds faster. Good luck, wish ya the best =)

I know what my husband says for me to do when he thinks I need extra protein, not sure it will help in your case though.

work out, run, etc after you wake up and before eating anything. your body will be forced to burn fat for energy. and since you're trying to lose weight, yet gain muscle, eat a lot of protein food and low in carbs. eat a lot and don't worry that you're increasing the amount of meals. the important thing is you're changing the quality of the meals. since u're trying to do two things at once, results might not show up instantly but don't feel like you have failed.

Exercise the sh!t outta yourself and you'll get results. Protein or no protein. The thing is, a lot of guys like you are working to lose weight or look good. You'll feel better after a workout and a shower and the next day mentally. Sex works too.
