My budget is $500. I want to get a in-ground basketball Hoop. HOA does not allow portable.

I see Tempered Glass, Clear Acrylic, and Polycarbonate for backboards.
Different sizes, different prices..
Square poles and round poles..

I picked out few for ideals..

Help me get a best deal on this..

This is for my 6 year old son and I.

This one has square pole, which I like. But the review says that it's a bitch to install.

I like this one, because it has Tempered Glass. But it has round pole.
Lifetime 90003 Elite 54 Inch Power Lift XL In Ground Basketball System

This one I like, but it's over my budget. Just to give you an idea.. Lights and the net, I don't care about.

that net would be outrageously useful if your son likes to shoot by himself.

we had a cheap round pole, plastic backboard, and it lasted 15 years... until one day about 3 years ago, we were shooting around, and i went up and grabbed the rim.. as i land... i just hear all my friends yell "oh shit" i turn and see the hoop breaking away at its base..

instalation of most basketball hoops will be the same.. dig a hole with a post hole digger... pour in concrete, set in pole, level pole, make sure its right height... profit.

they also sell these funny looking hooks/traps that fit on the net that will direct the ball back to the shooter once it sinks through, won't help if he misses though heheh

My parents bought the Goaliath on Sale for something like $400, so you may be able to find it under your budget. It's very easy to adjust (even my 7 year old son can raise and lower it by himself) and a very nice setup (although my parents didn't put up the light or the net either). I don't have any experience with the other two though.

Yeah it's very good, extremely durable and also looks very nice.
