Help! I need help - quickly!!!!

Just bought an ABIT IS7 board with a P4C 2.4 processor. As soon as I attempt to install WINXP - I get a blue stop screen. the RAM I got was Kingston DDR400 PC3200 2 sticks, total of 512MB

Any quick ideas?

Oh, yeah. I've got a brand new Maxtor 80gig 7200 RPM HD, too.

Back off your memory timings to 2.5-3-3-8 for starters and use 2.7V on the memory, and see if that clears it up. Also, if your board's BIOS has a Performance mode, disable it for now.
