Just finished what I was reading, and now I need something new, something out of the ordinary.

I'm thinking a fiction written around Nazi germany. But nothing having to do with the actual war, or at least not focused on the warside of the times.

This.

Well, its not exactly what you asked for, but since I dont know of any fictional germany books, I will suggest Starship Troopers.

Harry Turtledove is your man. Try the World War Tetrology.

I tried reading whatever series of his had the axis and the allies coming together at the peak of WWII to fight off an alien invasion but never made it past the first book. Awesome premise the execution left something to be desired. I may start it back up again as soon as I finish Peter F. Hamilton's Commonwealth Saga.

More historical than fiction, but try "Flags of our Fathers." Alternatively, check out "Pillars of the Earth." Finally, an all time favorite of mine is Catch 22.
