i need an IDE driver for my cd rom to work. I formated my hd and installed 98 from the cd drive. but when the installation is finished, the D: is not registared in 98 😵 it saids that there is a problem with my primary IDE controller. I need to find the driver to try install the IDE driver...help pleaseee....

You cd dosn't need drivers, windows has had support for IDE cd since win95. You have some form on conflict on your ide channell, probably your cd is set to master when it's ment to be slace (existing hdd) or slave when it's spost to be master (if on it's own chanell). If it an't any of those then you may have a dead cd.

no you didn't but it still dosn't matter 🙂

What could be the problem is the ide controller it's self rather than the dvd. Most newish mainboards need extra drivers, do you know if the mainboard is based on a VIA or Intel chipset (NOT CPU)? If not try your manufactures site and download the required drivers.
