I have a Mac G4 and it does not have a modem. I can't add a PSI modem because all my slots are full. I have a friend that has a G3 and had a external U.S. Robotics Sportster modem hooked up. He got a cable modem and gave me his old one.
That is the good part!!
Now the problem, the modem has a din style plug on the end of the cord that pluged into his G3. My G4 does not have a jack like this. The only connections my Mac has is two USB ports and two FireWire ports and one other connector that I am not sure what is (it looks like a phone connector only much bigger). Does anyone know if there is an adaptor for this cord, or different cord that I can purchase to make this modem hook up to a USB port on my Mac??? I searched on U.S. Robotics web site, but could not find anything.
This is a new thing for me, this is my first mac and I don't know anything about them. Can anyone help a Mac newbee?????
Thanks!!!
