Well, I thought I was ready to try out linux, but I wasnt. I installed it okay, but suse overwrote the MBR with GRUB, which had trouble booting windows. I really needed my windows stuff, so I popped in the XP cd and using the recovery console i did FIXBOOT and FIXMBR. Now I get an error, error loading OS. I have the linux CD, if it would be easier to use another boot loader to load windows, I dont mind.
Things Ive tried:
-I can boot into knoppix, but it cant access any of my hds (i also have a 160gb that is for data which also cannot be accessed)
-I tried using windows 98 boot disk to use Fdisk /mbr and then used the winxp disk to do fixboot, but that still did not work.
