Hello

I just 'upgraded' my motherboard's bios. But now it does not boot. The fans rotate but it appears to hang and keeps on toggling between checking the cdrom drives (i have two). The monitor too does not show any display. I did manage to save the previous bios on the floppy. But during boot it does not even get till booting from the floppy.

Any insights ?

Thank you

If you can get into the bios, reset it to default failsafe and see if that helps.

Nope. When I switch it on, the fans rotate and I can see the drive lights of my HDD and 2 cdrom drives turn on alternatively. It does not proceed ahead. So, it does not even reach the checking of the floppy, so I cannot boot from the floppy (or cdrom).

Looks as if it is trying to determine the devices connected to the IDE controllers and then just keeps on alternating between them.
