HELP - I lost my saved file on Microsoft Office XP

I uploaded one of my papers to the web and later opened it from the web (without downloading and saving it to the hard drive) and modified it on another PC. I hit save and closed it but then I realized that I didn't download the file so there would be no where to save it to.

Is there anyway I can retrieve this file?

I did this about 17 hours ago.

THANKS

Should be somewhere in your temporary internet files on that PC. The directory location is dependent on which browser you use.

I was using mozilla firefox when I opened the file, do you know off hand where it would be or point me in the right direction?

THANKS

correct me if im worng tho, but dont firefox delte files when its closed? so unless u had the browser opened and never closed, its ogna

I think it depends on your privacy settings; it could be set to clear the cache on exit.

Typing "about:cache: into your address bar should provide you with the information you need. It looks like there might be a bit of work associated with grabbing the file from the cache, though.
