Help! I lost my GTA 3 Save

I had to format my hard drive and reinstall XP, my computer is 100% fine now no problems whats so ever. However, in the process I lost my GTA 3 saves, I forgot to back them up as I didn't think I would need to do a full format. However, the repair failed and I was left with no choice but to format. So if someone out there can please help me that would be great. I need a save (hopefully a rather good one) that is towards the end of the Portland missions or at the very beggining of the Stauton Island ones. Thanks to anybody who can help.
