against my better judgement i went ahead n tried installing audiogalaxy satellite on win2k.

i remember during the setup there being an option to NOT install webhancer n some other crap that came with audiogalaxy but webhancer still got installed anyway :(

i could not delete the webhancer folder cos there is no access to some of the files in there. the error message says source file might be in use. so i opened up task manager hoping to find a process which might be using the files but i don't recognise it.

can someone tell me how to get rid of webhancer?

It should be on the uninstall menu.

Anyway, it also installs a registry key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
Dont remember what its called, but its easy to figure out which one it is, just delete it.

doh! should've looked in add/remove programs first :D

somehow, spyware seems so insidious i din think it would be as simple as uninstalling from add/remove programs :D

go to cnet's download.com and search for adaware 4.6 (I think that is the version) It gets rid of spyware like webhancer.
