Help!!! I have problem with memory pc133 install in IBM laptop

I installed the memory pc133 and the computer won't boot...then i try to install emmory pc100 in the first slot and pc133 second slot. The laptop gave me sytem error..Should I update my bios system or not..I thought the pc133 will work and will knock down the speed to pc100. Can someone helps me..thanks
It is IBM a20m ...
 
You might want to post a few specifics regarding your dilemma:

  • The brand, size, density, etc of the new ram
  • The brand, size, density, etc of the ram already running in the machine
