Help!! I have locked myself out of my external USB hard drive. I am using Windows 7 with current patches. The USB drive has been in use for over a year. I was logged on with full rights and was attempting to restrict access to the local USB drive. Bad mistake.
Now the drive gives an access denied message and I am unable to change permissions, even if I am logged in as Administrator. I also tried enabling the Administrator account but this did not help. I also tried powering down the USB drive and when I brought it back on line a message said I needed to reformat the drive (I cancelled that message box).
How do I get access back to this drive?
Big Big thanks in advance .... hoping...
