I just bought a new BFG 8500gt pci-e video card to replace my old asus x300se pci-e video card. After i installed it to my system , there is no signal display to my LCD. (black screen) My LCD used the basic 15pin o/p connection.

I tried to change another 400w power supply but still doesnt work.
My motherboard is asus A8N5X. It has only 1 pci-e slot so it doenst support SLI. North Bridge is nForce4.

Does anyone knw how to solve it. thanks.

Why were you replacing the X300SE, was there something wrong with it like a failure that might be the board instead of the card?

Take the new card out, inspect it, use the Clear CMOS jumper on your motherboard while AC power is disconnected, then reinstall. Make sure the card is fully seated in the slot, on my A8N5X there are a few tiny capacitors on the left edge that barely allow clearance for the video card I have in it.

If the old card works still, put it back in to see if the board is still alive. I hope you didn't swap these cards while the PSU was live, AC power not disconnected. Also try the new video card in another system.

You don't mention what power supplies you're using, are they good or generic? If you were overclocking, temporarily return it to stock speed.

If you have a multimeter, measure the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V levels at the PSU connector.
