Well I recently got interested in vid. editing and am looking for a DV camcorder that will let me take good slow motion and time lapse sequences.
So I went over to sony and saw the DCR-VX2000, Here is the page about it Link
looks good has time capture has a "shutter adjust", but is that what I want? I want to be able to play back the movie in slow-motion, but without the help of to much computer tweeking because of the, "blurry frame, stop, blurry frame, stop, blurry frame," that results. Any help or suggestions would be really usefull, I am looking for something around $3,000. And I don't know what its called, other than I need a faster shutter speed, and I dont want to buy this camera or any other unless I know for sure it can do both of time capture and slow motion.

Thanks

I work in a TV studio and we have 2 of those for filming from positions where the pro-cameras are just too big. The Image quality is really good and they have a whole bunch of settings to help you get a very good picture. The image quality compares pretty well with our expensive pro-cams so it is a very good buy IMO. I want to have one too some day (whishfull thinking of a student)

EDIT: Forgot about the slow-mo... I don't know if they can do that. For real slowmo recording the tape has to be moved at a faster speed thru the drive and then during playback the speed is brought back to normal. That means depending on the speed of your slow-mo the camera has to deal with up to twice the amount of data in the same time period (60 FPS for 1/2 speed for example) and the tape drive also has to handle this. I don't think this little baby can do that. The shutter speed is actually for making fast moving objects less blurry or even more so (for whatever artistic reason) when recording at your normal 30 FPS. it doesn't really have anything to do with slow-mo. Slow Mo is a tall order any way... for what it's worth, here is a link to some software that might help (but as with most good video things, it's not cheap at 1500$)
