help! I can't write in my IE browser and windows explorer

When I press any key in IE window or windows explorer, I always get the waring window
"IE encounters an error and will be closed." Then IE or windows explorer will be closed.

I have Windows 2000 professional on my PIII 933 computer. Any suggestion or comment?

virus scan, full scandisk, reinstall ie. thats all i got. btw, try logging in as admin too.

yeah, try loading a newer version of ie
