Hola,
I have a big problem here
I formatted my com recently and use the same partitions before the format, to install my OS(win98se).In the 3rd quarter of the install(where it finalises everything like control panel, drivers etc..), it becomes dreadfully slow....My harddisk went like "Clunk", spin, read info, stop...and it will go on like this until i can't tolerate the awful speed and shut it off.
I tried all sorts of methods...formatting the partitions..formatting the HD as a whole...using partitionmagic...disabling ATA100...surface scan the partiton where i house my OS..to no avail..until i install the OS into a single partition(primary only). Only then, the OS would work ...So now i had to use one partition in order to work..
The problem is...i deduce..is that it can't have extended and logical drives...if i don't partition, the OS would work fine(except for some glitches)
Ok...i have changed the bios once before i formatted..dunno if that affected anything..and i found out that the safe mode of OS also had this problem(before i formatted
Enough of my lengthly paragraphs...anyone knows how to solve this problem or at least know what is wrong with my com?THANKS
