I have a new WRT54GX2 that is working OK as far as LAN browsing or internet connectivity, but I need to access the web based config via web browser at IP 192.168.1.1 but I can't get to the login screen, any ideas, I have tried multiple browsers, multiple machines and I don't haveany software firewalls. Any ideas before I have to contact Linksys?

If you just type: 192.168.1.1. in your browser you should get to the router
The default Login is: Admin .... the default password is left Blank

powercycle router, do an ipconfig, type in your default gateway in your browser. If you don't have any real settings you need to save (ssid, port fowards, mac filtering, wep/wpa keys), hard reset it with the physical button and it will put it back to factory default settings. Good luck.

Wow, I just had the same problem with mine.
I would get the login screen, but after entering the password I would just get a blank page.
I unplugged the router for about a minute and it worked again.

thanks for the replies, but to clarify I don't get to the login screen, and yes I am using the correct IP as I noted in the original post. I have reset it and done everything else I know to do.

Make sure you update the firmware. I have a WRT54G (x3?) and had all kinds of problems with it until I upgraded. I'm at 4.20.7 now and running fine for months.

I can't login in order to upgrade the firmware, nonetheless the problem is solved with a new router, thanks for all replies.
