My Windows Installer Software was corrupt or something. Decided to go to website and download a new version. (Then thought, why should that work, if my installer is corrupt how can it install a new installer)
BUT IT WORKED!!!

I bought a new scanner and tried installing from HP's website. Everything went fine until the install screen starts and then quickly shuts down. Tried again from a disc and same thing happened. (Thought it was operator error). Then tried updating driver on my Intellimouse and the same thing happened. It downloads everything and when it is about to install the install screen just closes. (Maybe a second after opening). Any help would be wonderful..

sounds like a problem with windows installer ..... if U are running XP try to revert back to the last restore point and that will ( hopefully ) take care of any issues
