Hey all.. I just put together my new system last night, and for some reason, i can't get the o/s or floppy recognized. I've double-checked all physical connections.. it all looks ok. These are the errors i'm getting: "no NTLDR drive found" and when trying to boot from startup disk, "device I/O error". Doh! I've placed in a hard drive which already has Win2k installed.. i'm guessing that's y i'm getting the NTLDR error.(i believe that is directly related to windows2000). But i have no idea y i can't even get the floppy to work. I know it's not the drive itself b/c i swapped it out with 2 other functional floppies, and still no luck. I'm quite frustrated at this point, to say the least. Guys, help me out? =\ thanks..

btw, this is my setup:

Duron 600
MSI K7T Pro 2
Voodoo3 3000
128 generic ram

What kind of boot disk are you using, looks like a blank or non bootable w2k disc. Need to use a Win9X/ME boot disk. Did you try flipping the floppy cable or check if the cable is connect to RED #1

If you get bad stability with a bootdisk ,like lockups etc, then you may have a faulty CPU,(I had this problem where may CPU became faulty,I could not boot from boot disk,or install OS,)

You were right, forcesho... i didn't have a correct boot disk. I did get one, however.. and was then able to boot. I also found out that i can't just pop in a hard drive with win2k. Doesn't work that way, i guess. But anyway.. i put in a different hdd with win95, and... it worked! boot to windows and everything... but get this.. i decided to format my previous hdd(with win2k os) and do a clean install... but as soon as i hooked that up and turned the monster on, i get a CONSTANT Beeping! =\ and an error message "BIOS ROM checksum error" what happened?! I checked over all hardware connections... everything is ok.. it just won't boot now.. not even a memory check or anything.. i get the error immediately. HELP!?
