It seems that my dad, has manged to re-install windows, to his (brand new) "acer aspire 9500" due to some corrupt .dll file. I have to admit, to some peer pressure but eitherway we are down a laptop as the internal wireless adaptor won't accept anything we type in.

I have done the "cmd" promt way of finding ip's and dns servers. Basically i need help (well he does). i just hope we can fix it.

Thanks for any help it would be usefull.

Sorry, i re-read that, its not very clear.

Basically the internal wirless adaptor won't connect to the wireless router. and it has to be enabled manually. i have the correct credentials but it says "error connecting"

has anyone had this problem? or any bright ideas

thanks

I assume the drivers installed properly?

Could it be you set a specific, hidden SSID and forgot about it? Or you have the SSID password wrong?

If you have access to the wireless router you might check the credentials again, and if that doesnt work, try opening it wide open and see if it will detect the wireless network then (as a last resort).
