Help I blew my PC up

I hope some one can help...

I went to install a new heatsink/fan tonight, I must have mistakenly got some artic sillver 3 somewere I shouldnt have. When it went to post I herd a crackle sound and I smelled electronics. So I quickly switched the system off from the power supply.

I went to a local retailer and I got a retail 1.2 Duron and tried to install in the system it wouldnt post.

So I pulled a back up mobo out that I use to use and it has no issues. I installed the new duron and the rest of the system still wouldnt post. Ive tried switchin power supplys, video cards, hardrives, nothin will make it post...

Am I f'd? Do I need to just throw everything in the trash and start all over? Or maybe the new proc I bought is doa? Any suggestions will be much appreciated on this issue
 
Its possible that if you put new processor in a fubar board the new processor was damaged. If you have tried clearing cmos and the ram was not damaged as well as the mobo and original processor, it would appear new processor is bad now or was from jumpstart.
 
Well I returned the processor to the retailer and they are getting a new one delivered to them today....Ill report back onc I get it....

I just hope its not my ram or my antec power supply
