I have a HP Pavilion XH136 that was hooked up to a external monitor and was working just fine. When it came time to disconnect, the computer was shut down, then unplugged from the external monitor. later when turning it on to use, the LCD would not come on, even when hitting "fn+F5" (the command for switching from a external monitor to the LCD panel built onto the computer and vise versa. Hooking it back up to an external monitor proved uneventful as well, no video is found there either. After some time, if you turn it on now, it gives a loud set of beeps, one long followed by two short. beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beep beep. I really dont know what to make of it, and hope someone here has had a similar experience with this laptop, or one similar.

mucho thanks in advance

John

Beeps are ususlly motherboard problems. Is there a reset button? Hold down on the power button for more than 4 secs?

the video board was loose, i had to pop off the keyboard and the power on board and press it back into place, it works fine now
