So, My XP install on my hp mini was running crappy so I tried to reinstall which ended up being harder then expected. I tried using a dell install disc, and the set up failed before getting to install options. I then resized the partition the orignal xp install was on to create unallocated and set the unallocated space as my primary boot partition and tried to run the disc again ending with the same result. After failing at this I was feeling creative and took out the hard drive and connected it to my desktop and formated the whole thing and ran the set up disc through my desktop and installed windows fine. After taking it out of my desktop and putting it back into my netbook windows tries to boot, but blue screens immediately after the xp screen with the bar shows up. I tried downloading the chipset drivers and mouse drivers from my desktop, figuring windows would automatically install the mini drivers for everything else, or I would be able to download them from my other pc and transfer using a thumb drive and the touchpad. Tried calling tech support but they told me to send the mini back in becasue the usb dvd drive wasnt being recognized by the mini in the bios. Too cheap to send it back and have already gotten this far, plus windows 7 32 bit oem would be cheaper and faster. I think that if I find an hp recovery download and install on my mini hd and put it back into the mini and run that I would all set. Any suggestions?
