i have an athlon xp 1600+ AGAKA and a athlon xp 1800+ AGOIA. i have a asus a7m266-d motherboard that i want to run them in dual configuration but it won't ket me since it detected a xp processor. how to i unlock the xp processor to be an mp? i have only run across one web page talking about it:

unlock xp to mp

my 1600+ AGAKA already had the fourth L5 bridge connected, my 1800+ AGOIA didn't, so i used some circuitworks conductive grease to close it. still nothing. can someone please tell me how to unlock xp to mp? :(

i wonder if just unlocking the cpu by connecting the L1 bridges would have an effect on it
since the MP's do come unlocked

closing the last bridge in the L5 set only unlocks the MP part of the chip... but even when you close it, the chip will still be detected as an XP it just should work in MP config

i would clean off the 4th L5 bridge and try closing it again

Don't know how stable this will be. Both chips are Different speeds AND different core steppings.

I have 2 Duron 1Ghz running in my asus, same stepping and speed.

So get 2 chips that are the same speed, AND the same stepping, do the L5 trick and rock and roll
