Help, how to rename the firewire under device manager

I am using Win XP Pro.

I just realize that now under the network adapter, it saya 1394 network adapter #3.

I believe it's supposed to be only 1394 network adapter.

My question is how do I rename it back to only 1394 network adapter without the #3?

I have tried to uninstall and scan for hardware change but it changes to #4.

Please help me out as it really annoys me.

Thanks

That's really just how many times Windows has detected it, it has no bearing on whether it works or not.

To expand on Nothinman's point - everytime you uninstall and find it again, it will be another numbered "encounter." Right click and rename works. Really - learn to ignore this sort of thing.
