Help! How to evenly split bandwith on DSL router??

The Wildcard

Hi there, I am going to share my DSL connection with 3 of my other friends, bringing the total number of people using the DSL connection to 4. I was wondering if it's possibly to EVENLY split the bandwith to each of us?

We are using a Netgear RT314 router. Thanks!!

unplug there connections to the router and take all the bandwith yourself...when they ask why it aint workin just tell them "I dont know...fix it yourself"

The Netgear, like most routers probably serves bandwith up on a first-come first-served basis. However, if you REALLY want to share equally, get yourself a cisco router w/ two ethernet ports. The you can set Fair Queing, or if you feel really frisky, you can weight it so you always get prioirty!. Gotta Love cisco. You can do anything if you are willing pay....

Good Luck

-Dave.
