help how to enable SATA II mode

how do i enable sataII mode on the gigabyte ds3 mobo? i have the seagate 320gig 16mb cache as a backup drive and i believed is currently running sata I mode

Did you remove the jumper from the back of the drive itself?

Have you checked in BIOS? That's where those modes are usually set for the mobo.
