How will I find out whether my graphic card has a GeForce MX 400 or plain MX chip in it.
Physical examination is not possible because of the heat sink.

If it has 64MB of ram then it is a MX400. It really doesn't matter though, becuase there was no performance increase between the MX400 and the original MX. The MX is memory bandwith limited, so the increase in the core on the MX400 didn't yeild any improvement. It was mainly done for on paper performance.

I recently purchased a Chaintech AGP-RIA2 video card from the net.
It was sold to me as a GeForce MX 400. But from what I colud see on
your website and other sources RIA2 is a plain GeForce MX card not MX 400.
The board says that that it has a GeForce MX chip on the packaing board but there is a flashy
icon on the board proclaiming MX 400. On close examination I found out that the MX400
icon on the box is a sticker that has been pasted on to the cardboard box.
This is why I had my doubts!

There were 64MB cards based on the 'Classic' MX core as well.
