Help! How to clean off paint job

I kind of messed up my CD drive bezel while painting it with Silver bumper coating. I tried cleaning it up with a sponge and soap (dumb, I know) and now, it... looks terrible.🙁

Any ideas on how to clean off all this ugly paint?

Would paint thinner/remover work?

Also, maybe try alcohol or something?

Whatever you do dont use acetone or turpintine!!!

Yes, you need to be very careful what type of thinner you use, as many of them will break-down the plastic that makes up the drive bezel. It might be easier to do a light sand job on the drive first and then just repaint it.

Yeah, don't use acetone. I learned that one the hard way. 🙁

Go to a hobby store and get some Testor's mineral spirits paint thinner. I dont know exactly what is in bumper coating, but for a couple bucks its worth a shot.

Go to a local hardware store and ask for "Motsenbocker's Lift Off #5." Takes paint off, and safe on plastics. Works like a charm.
