Help! How do I plan for a trip to Key West?

I will be in Florida from July 7-17th.

I'd like to spend about 3 days in Key West. What's the best way to start researching inexpensive hotels, a rental car, etc? Thanks!

i got a great deal through hotels.com when i went to miami a couple of years ago, almost half price for a 2 bdrm with a kitchen up the beach from the strip.

Key West is a ton of fun, there are a lot of gays there (not that theres anything wrong with that) but its not like you're gonna be raped or anything (unless you ask nice) it really is a beautiful place and there is plenty of activities to do, the night life is a lot of fun also.
